I really like this idea and love evernote, but had not thought of this workflow, but it is still easier to "favorite" a tweet and go back with the twitter web interface to save it. the iphone app (going to mail and relaunching tweetdeck) just takes too long. But it's a direct workflow, and I enjoy finding new ways to use evernote! Thanks for the post.

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

Jimmy

I know Evernote and use it but get stuck when it comes to tagging. I rarely do it. B/c it's an extra step. My question is... if I don't tag - and so then searching Evernote for that particular tweet is done just through whatever words are in the tweet that I remember - then what's the advantage of doing that versus just sending to Gmail and searching the same way? I'm not challenging it. I just want to know if you have a different method. or a good Evernote workflow to share that reduces wasted time tagging/organizing things in Evernote??? Thx for the info!

Logan

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

Thanks ! I used to do that, Favorite tweets throughout the day, but many times would forget about them.
What I like about Tweetdeck is the mobile ability to email it right into evernote.

Thanks for the feedback

Jimmy

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

I archive tweets to Evernote in two steps using Evernote's widget that lets me instantly clip and archive any online content.

Throughout the day I favorite tweets of interests--I rarely have time during the workday to click through and read linked tweets.

Later I review my Favorites. To save the tweet itself, I highlight it and clip it to Evernote where it is automatically Archived to a folder.

More frequently I click through the tweet's link, then clip the content--article, post, whatever--to the same archived Evernote folder.

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

You should def check out Evernote, I am constantly finding new ways to use it and make it a great part of many of my workflows

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

Thanks ! I agree it is kind of a pain to have it take you out of the application to mail it then have to re launch .. but for now, its the best solution I can think of so I will deal ;)

Jimmy

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

Great workflow - I just recently started using Evernote and absolutely love Tweetdeck on my iPhone. This should have been obvious to me, but was not. Thanks for writing this up.

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

Thanks for yet another great post. I'd never heard about Evernote before you mentioned it on Twitter/FriendFeed. This looks like a winner so it's time to check it out and test it. Thanks for being ahead of my curve and providing insightful combinations of tools and idea.

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

I agree with you 100%! I use various Twitter clients on my BlackBerry and Evernote combined with Twitter is awesome. I tried the emailling tweets method that you described, but I did not like how it made so many evernotes to pour through at the end so I latched onto another method - I start each day by openning a new Evernote Text Note on my Blackberry... then every time that I see a tweet with a link that I like, I copy the tweet (one click in UberTwitter for BB) and paste it into that Evernote. Then at the end of the day I save the note with a name like "links 2 JUL". So then when I have the time, I have a single file with all the links that I liked for that day!

Love your blog. I appreciate you keeping me informed of all the tech events that are occuring in our area.

-Scott
IT Thought of The Day Blog

Re: TweetDeck and Evernote, a Match Made in Heaven

I too need a solution to bookmark and share those great links from Twitter. Using Evernote over plain email is a great idea. Like you, I also use Tweetdeck iPhone, but there is one problem with your method. Each time you click on the email tweet button, you are forced to exit Tweetdeck to launch the email program. You have to send your email, then close the email program, to open Tweetdeck again!

One link at a time is too slow for me to work. A save to Evernote option (or save to delicious, facebook, etc) would be far preferable over a forced quit. For now, I will stick to adding to favorites and later using the web interface to bookmark then.
